Week 11 - MFRW 52-week Blog Challenge Participants #MFRWAuthor

Join us for week 11

Week 11: If I never had to do this one task again....

Blogging is an opportunity for authors to connect with readers. Despite being writers, blogging is an entirely different style of writing and often stumps us. To help our authors blog consistently, thoughtfully and with purpose, Marketing for Romance Writers is announcing the 2018 Blog Challenge. Each week, authors use our writing prompt to create a meaningful blog post. We'll be posting every Friday... join us as often as possible.

All authors with blogs are welcome to participate. It's very simple!
  1. Sign up in the comments below to commit to the challenge. You will be "buddied" up with another author for support.
  2. Copy the badge onto your blog's sidebar. Share it on your social media networks. Be sure to link it back to this page.
  3. Write your weekly blog post based on the given prompt. Use #MFRWauthor in your title, and be original - don't use "week 2 of 52-week challenge" because that is not unique and won't drive readers to your post.
  4. Make it easier for other bloggers to share your post by writing your blog title in third person or adding your name versus using "I", "me," "my" or "mine." (e.g., Instead of putting "What I learned from my worst review," say something like "What one snarky romance writer learned from her worst review."
  5. Return to the MFRW Marketing Blog weekly to add your blog post to the linky list. This will be available each Tuesday for that week's posts. When adding your link, use the post's direct link - not your blog home page.

  1. I don't know why but I can never get into "rusticating in the tropics" posts. Wordpress does an auto direct to writing a new post. Any ideas on what is going on? That doesn't happen with any of the other wordpress blogs.

  2. I have the same problem as Helen. I know with my own posts, I used to have trouble getting to the blog post itself and always got an error message, but it at least took me to my blog. Then I learned that I had to actually save the post before trying to copy the URL so it created a usable, permanent URL instead of a and that solved my problem. That may also be the issue here. If the blogger goes to the new post page and copies that URL before saving the post, it may just direct us all back to that original page -- but that's just a guess on my part.

  3. That's Fran Thomas's blog. She is entering her URL incorrectly. I have to go in and change it every week. The best way to get into her blog before I get into changing the URL is to delete everything up to the "R" in Rusticating, then delete the number and slash after Tropics. That will get you into her post. I've fixed it on the list, but this is her correct URL: https://rusticatinginthetropics.com/2018/03/16/help-i-need-somebody-mfrwauthor/
